Feisal Salum was born in Zanzibar City, located in Zanzibar, one of the two states forming the United Republic of Tanzania.

Feisal began playing football at a very young age, starting with school teams and later joining neighborhood teams, until he was noticed and signed by JKU FC, a club affiliated with the government institution known as the National Service for Economic Development. He was signed by this club in 2016 at the age of only 17.

After playing for JKU FC, he showcased great talent, and mainland Tanzanian clubs became interested in signing him. Eventually, in 2018, he was signed by Yanga SC. However, this signing led to controversy, as Singida United claimed they had already signed him shortly before. As a result, Yanga SC was accused of enticing him away and breaching the terms of his supposed contract with Singida United.

Despite the controversy, the matter was quietly settled, and Feisal continued to play for Yanga from 2018 until 2022, when he terminated his contract. Although Yanga claimed the termination was done unprofessionally, an agreement was eventually reached in 2023 for him to transfer to Azam FC
